Besides, when I title it like this,

we're practically super heroes!

So yeah, I'm sure a post about my relationship with these 2 amazing ladies was predictable, but hey, it's the truth! I have no doubt that over the course of the year there will be many people popping up on the list of reasons that I am fortunate. But since we've been especially present in each other's lives lately, and because they have been such a powerful force in my life over the last few years, here they are, in all their glory.

I love them! They totally get me, and they encourage me to be myself, and tell me I deserve only wonderful things in life--helping to dissipate the self-doubt we all experience at times. True friends can walk that line of allowing you to feel totally accepted for who you are and of challenging you to be honest with yourself. They'll support your decisions, but gently point out when they see that those decisions may be self-destructive. They encourage you to be the best version of you humanly possible, and make you feel like you can do anything. That, and they buy you ice cream (or a martini) just because they think you're pretty and fun.

I don't know what my life would have been like if these two amazing women hadn't stepped into (or back into) my life when they did, but wow, am I ever glad they did. I have no sisters by birth, but I am so very fortunate to have found sisters of the soul. They help to remind me of the good things in my life. Every. Day.
